Carpet and hard floor vacuum?

One of my dogs love it chewed through the wire to my vacuum of the rainbow. Im very upset but also relieved because 'the VE that seeks a reason to go get an empty unless more cumbersome. Which is the best vacuum for my place?

I have a house to 1200 square feet. Mainly on the carpet throughout except kitchen and bathrooms. There are hard floors. I am also providing a new family member, a malty-poo (Maltese mixed with a barboncino). Not much is free because he barboncino in him and barboncini not get rid of. So I need a vacuum that can range from carpet cleaning to clean the hard floors. I have a rainbow hour, which is one of the best love and empty, but the base bevel that an every time I have to vacuum. So I feel like that gap should be used once a month, because so deep cleans.
